Through a series of modules students will gain an understanding of the concept of an ecosystem, different types of biodiversity and the impacts of climate change on our ecosystems. They will be able to discuss, at a basic level, the legal, social, and economic factors that help conserve and restore threatened and endangered species.
Students will be able to understand the essential functions soil performs for humans and relate these functions to ecosystem services, food production and human wellbeing.
Content is delivered through a series of modules with linked reading, video and data activities that can be viewed and followed at a students own pace, with support via two timetabled online classes for discussion.
On completion of this micro-credential students should have the skills and knowledge to critically discuss ecosystems, their biodiversity and conservation issues with specific reference to climate change.
